About Jimboomba United Football Club Inc
Jimboomba United commenced as Jimboomba and District Sport and recreation Club in 1982 and had its first senior men’s team in 1986 in the Church League, winning their grand Final in 1988. In 1990, the club fielded its first men’s team in the Football Brisbane competition – winning their Division 2 Grand Final in 1999 and Division 2 Reserves winning their Premiership the same year. There was a period of 5-6 years when a senior men’s team only played in the Commercial League until a member volunteered to re-establish the competitive Senior men’s football within the club – since this time the club has grown in numbers and stature as a club and was regarded as one of the more progressive clubs in the Brisbane area with our Metro Division one team pushing for promotion to the Brisbane Premier League. The club has had Junior teams since 1982 with consistent success in Premierships and Grand finals with our Under 12 boys division 2 team winning the ‘double’ of Grand Final and League Championship and our Under 13’s first all-girls team winning their Grand Final in 2011. In 2012 our U12 Div.3 team won the Grand Final and Our U14 Div.3 team won the double with the League Championship and Grand Final. In 2013 we were awarded a place in the Football Brisbane Capital 3 competition (replacing the old Premier league divisions) and our first BJL (Brisbane Junior League) spot for the efforts of our division one teams in the previous season. Also in 2013 we had five teams competing in the finals series including our U15 Girls Div.1 team who won the league Championship and Grand Final! With the success of our U12 Div.1 team in 2013 we will have U13’s and U15’s playing in the BJL Competition in 2014. In 2015, our U18’s Men’s team won their grand final and we also had our U13’s Div 2 team win the Minor Premiership. In 2016, Our Capital 3 First team made it into the top 4 and was part of the semi finals, the first time since 2013. Also our U12 Div 4 team also secured a place in the finals and went on to win the grand final. In 2018, the club had a record 7 teams make semi finals with 3 of them taking out minor premiers. From there the U13 Div 5 team won their grand final. At the older end of the age groups we have fielded an over 35 men’s team for several years now – finishing in the top four most years and winning the minor premiership in 2016 and 2017 and 2 grand finals, 1 in 2009 and the other in 2015. We are also proud to have a senior women’s team who won the minor premiership and grand final in 2014. In 2023, the club held its first ever series of FQ Finals across Senior Women, Senior Men and Junior Divisional Age Groups. This was a huge opportunity for the club and we look forward to nominating again for future events, In 2024, our Junior Divisional teams had an incredible season, with our U16 Boys winning the Minor Premiership and making it through to a Grand Final where they took the runners up medal. Our U14 Mixed & U17 Girls teams both finished their seasons 2nd on the ladder and after a huge semi final night at Kurrajong Park, they both progressed to Grand Finals and WON! Our Women’s Metro 4 team finished in the top 4, ultimately being beaten in the Semi Final. We work together with Logan City Council to provide a high standard of leisure activities for the area and open our club facilities during the week to local schools and organisations including the area’s Local School District Representative Football trials. We are a proud local club with a long and successful tradition to uphold.
