About Lions Football Club

Lions FC is a proud football club founded in 1957 by Dutch immigrants. Originally established as Hollandia, our illustrious club flourished from its home in the Richlands. For two decades, we competed in Queensland’s lower and first-division competitions until, in 1977, we were invited to join the prestigious National Soccer League (NSL). For over a decade, until 1988, we proudly represented our club under the names Hollandia and Brisbane Lions, leaving an indelible mark on the Australian football landscape. One of the crowning moments in our history came in 1981 when our Lions emerged triumphant in the NSL Cup over West Adelaide in Canberra. It was our first title and a testament to our unwavering dedication to excellence. Since then, our club has been at the forefront of football in Queensland, lifting Premierships, Championships, and Cup Finals. Today, our Football Department stands at the pinnacle of football in Queensland, continuing to set the benchmark and elevate the standards of football. We take pride in the success of our Lions Women’s Program and our Lions Men’s Program, all the way down to our Masters, Academy, and MiniRoos teams.
